    There are two types of bacteria that are common probiotics found in stores. These include:
    Lactobacillus.
    Bifidobacterium.
     
    Lactobacillus is a probiotic found in humans. Lactobacillus is named for its ability to ferment carbohydrates into lactic acid.It is used to make liquid yogurt, solid cheese, beer, wine, pickles, and other fermented foods.
     
    Bifidobacterium is a genus of gram-positive bacteria in the family Bifidobacteriales.

You have two kinds of bacteria constantly in and on your body — good bacteria and bad bacteria. Probiotics are made up of good bacteria that helps keep your body healthy and working well. This good bacteria helps you in many ways, including fighting off bad bacteria when you have too much of it, helping you feel better.
     
    2.For a microbe to be called a probiotic, it must have several characteristics. These include being able to:
    a, Be isolated from a human.
    b, Survive in your intestine after ingestion (being eaten).
    c, Have a proven benefit to you.
    d, Be safely consumed.
     
    3.Taking probiotics supplements may cause side effects, including:
    When first taking probiotics supplements, some people experience gas, bloating, or diarrhea. Changes in the gut microbiota can result in bacteria producing more gas than usual, which can lead to bloating.However, these side effects usually clear up within a few days or weeks of taking the probiotics.

    Some people worry that, when taking probiotics supplements, the body will get used to supplements and will stop producing its own probiotics, thereby becoming dependent on the  probiotics supplements. In fact we form our gut bacteria at a very young age, the adult body does not produce its own probiotics, and hence cannot become dependent on probiotic supplementation.
